On November 10th, 2010, Carver Financial Services Inc. is hosting Andy Friedman with Eaton Vance to give our clients, their friends and family, and community members an update on the 2010 mid-term elections and any upcoming political and legislative changes.

Andy Friedman is one of the nation’s most sought-after speakers on political and legislative developments and their likely effect on the government’s tax, fiscal, and retirement policies.

An expert on political affairs, Andy has been able to predict with accuracy the likely outcome of Washington deliberations and to provide investors with specific strategies to consider in light of the changing tax and legislative environment.

Andy was a senior partner with the law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., and practiced there for almost thirty years. During his tenure, he served as head of the tax group, head of the corporate parent group, and partner in charge of the firm’s overall media relations and marketing activities. He received his bachelor degree as valedictorian from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and his law degree from the Harvard Law School.

Andy also served as tax counsel to Major League Baseball, the National Football League, National Basketball Association, and National Hockey League.

He is included in Best Lawyers in America and Chambers’ America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, which notes that "Andy’s ability to combine vast knowledge and a practical mindset permits him to convey the most complex of tax concepts in layman’s terms. He is the expert’s expert; if every lawyer were like him, the world would be a much better place."
